LIFT PLATFORM SIMULATOR: PLATSIM

The lift platform is a machine designed for moving people both vertically and horizontally. There are different types of platforms depending on the requirements of the machine, articulated, scissor, telescopic, etc. The main difficulty lies in controlling the combination of movements of the basket respect height and speed, and in knowing how to avoid impacts problems. For these reasons it is strongly recommended simulator-based training.

Virtual reality

It reproduces, with total realism, the perfor¬mance of the machine in the movement of the basket, as it takes and leaves people, when mo¬ves, etc. Displays faithfully the scenario and the physics of the machine are completely real.

In short, a virtual reality very close to reality.

Simulation cabin

It consists on a motion platform that is the basis of a real appearance basket, a box that holds the electronic computer and the sound system, and, in the top, the controls on the PEM. The visualization system consists on 3D glasses with a tracking head.

Sim’s aim

The simulator is intended to provide the student with full knowledge of machine operation, from the controls to complex professional applications. The simulator is intended to develop a self-managed learning activity in which the student learns work issues, skills and attitudes.

In conclusion, the goal is to teach how to operate the machine in a productive, safe and controlled way through assessments.
